Antique Zebra Carousel Figurine by Lenox

In the 1860s, Americans couldn't get enough of the carousel that Gustav Dentzel brought with him from Germany. But it is Dentzel's woodcarvings and innovative carousel designs that art collectors treasure most today. One such masterpiece is an original Dentzel carousel zebra, circa 1886-1902, on permanent display at the Smithsonian Institution. The artists of Lenox have re-created this historic work in a limited edition sculpture. In true Dentzel style, this zebra is powerful and realistic.
