Know Your Materials

Bone china is the strongest dinnerware material, while porcelain is more lightweight, but still chip-resistant. Stoneware holds beautiful glazes and melamine is a break-free material that’s great for outdoor dining.

Opal Innocence

Regal and sophisticated, Opal Innocence features a gleaming pearlescent motif of hand-applied enamel dots around a beautiful motif of leaves and vines. Accented with platinum, this durable bone china pattern is dishwasher safe.

Very, very pretty

I bought 12 place settings of this dinnerware three months ago. Absolutely LOVED them when I opened the boxes. They are just slightly off-white, which is exactly what I wanted. Not pure bright white. The raised design is very pretty and gives just enough interest to the plate without detracting from the food (if you are serving a plated dinner). For the first few weeks I couldn't have been more pleased with this dinnerware - but more recently I've started to notice a few little black "scratches" on the raised parts of the design. I haven't been able to remove them, and I'm concerned because I've been extremely careful with these dishes. One of the reasons I bought this porcelain pattern was to avoid silverware marks that are often a problem with stoneware dishes. So while I love, love, LOVE these dishes, I'm worried that I may have spent a small fortune for dinnerware that may not last very long.
