Elegant Silver & Gold Christmas Tablescapes

Holly Jolley from homewithhollyj.com is a Party planner and blogger. She designed and set this elegant table for an incredible Christmas look. She loves all things holiday and she is an expert at creating a special place for families to make great memories together. Notice the way she layered napkins and plates, created a beautiful garland centerpiece and more. Read on to learn what Holly has to say...

The Wintery Garland Centerpiece

As I’ve said before in earlier posts, beauty lies in the details. To create this wintery garland centerpiece, I started with a layer of artificial cedar branches. I laid three branches going one way with the stem/branch part pointing towards the middle, and then I repeated that on the other side until they overlapped and interlocked in the middle. I repeated this same idea with frosted eucalyptus, frosted pine branches, painted pine cones and mistletoe stems with white berries. Lastly, I added in frosted white peonies to cover the holes. All this was created using only artificial flowers and greenery.

To complete the look, I also included these beautiful Wintery Woods Tree Figurines. I used three sets of these Christmas figurine—one on each end of the centerpiece and the others nestled into the garland in the middle. Finally, I added gold candlesticks.

The Place Setting

Layering your place setting is important and adds so much beauty to a table. I laid out all of the dinnerware and other items I planned to use and organized them on my island to make setting the table easier. If you want to see how I folded these napkins, click here!

Next, I put the placemats on the table. I like these placemats because they are versatile as well as inexpensive. After I set the placemats out, I layered a gold charger and Contempo Luxe Dinnerware. In between the plates, I placed the gold and white napkin and laid out two-toned gold and silver flatware. Last but not least, I added gorgeous Tuscany Classics Grand Beaujolais glasses and cute Christmas tree place card holders, too!

Versatility of this Tablescape

One of the things I like about setting a table in this manner is that it’s versatile and I can use this centerpiece garland for the whole of winter. When the holiday season is over, the Christmas trees can be removed and I can swap the accent plates and change out the napkin to create a new look.

Here, you can see an overhead detail shot. The layers in the garland centerpiece and place setting are what make this table so appealing and beautiful. I also added emerald green throw pillows to the end chairs to add a pop of color to the dining room.

Can you see why I’m obsessed with these dishes? The gold-rimmed, scalloped edge of this dinnerware is beautiful. I love how this tablescape has a mix of silver, gold, and white. These colors always mix well together—especially throughout the winter season!
