Creative Ways to Display The Lenox Spice Village

Spice Village—it’s a big dill all over again!

Originally created in 1989 and sold via a monthly subscription, our dollhouse-adorable spice jars were a big hit into the early 90s, a popular time for collecting and for quaint, colorful home décor. After fervor for vintage sets went viral, we brought Spice Village back as a Second Edition...it seems in any era, these happy little houses offer something timeless: joy.

For us at Lenox, nothing brightens the 9 to 5 like seeing your sets welcomed home. Spice Village fans are a passionate bunch, and oh-so creative! To inspire everyone to create a space they love full of things that spark (or sprinkle) joy, we wanted to share creative ways to display The Lenox Spice Village.

1. Moments in Thyme

We love this arrangement by Molly @builtbyforde. Mixing sentimental items like a cutting board inscribed with a handwritten recipe from her grandmother, plus items that epitomize a nostalgic aesthetic (including Spice Village), she transformed open shelving into a meaningful showcase of her favorite things. We give her extra credit for using a tiny cake plate for height variety. How sweet!

2. Picture-Perfect

Courtney @ofmiceandpen lined up her houses on a mounted wall shelf with an ornate frame. It makes her Spice Village set fun and functional art for the wall—plus it’s perfect if counter space is at a premium).

3. Antique Chic

We aren’t sure if Savannah @booksandbeauty lives in an immaculate estate from 1858…but her style sure looks like she does. From the gorgeous vintage buffet to the copper baking molds and Polish pottery, everything shown looks like something you’d see if you peered inside a Spice Village window. A simple riser display stand puts Spice Village front and center.

4. An Ornamental Idea

This one comes from our own creative crew. Senior Art Director Allison took two ornament boxes, pried off their wooden backs, stacked them up, screwed them together, and spray-painted them the perfect shade of lavender. She then took the paper we use as protective wrapping for Spice Village and let it serve as wallpaper for a photo shoot. Adorable!
