Instead of having wines and mulled ciders this autumn, here is a recipe for sparkling fall-flavored sangria to make for cozy and warm get-togethers!
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Total Time: 15 minutes
Serves: 4
Ingredients:
¼ cup maple syrup
750 ml bottle red wine
1 cup sliced Fuji apples
3 cinnamon sticks, plus extra for garnish
½ cup sliced orange, plus extra slices for garnish
1 cup sliced red pears
2 cups sparkling water
6 cloves whole
2 leftover/scraped vanilla bean pods
Directions:
- Get a large container that is resealable. Pour maple syrup and wine then stir until it is combined. After that, add your fruits: apples, pears, and oranges. Then your spices: vanilla beans, cinnamon sticks and cloves.
- Press the ingredients down to completely submerge in the wine and refrigerate for one day or overnight. Before serving, you should strain wine from the fruit and spices and mix with sparkling water. Be sure to keep some of the pear and apple slices to add to the wine glasses.
- You can divide up the sangria between the wine glasses. Then, garnish each one with a cinnamon stick and an orange slice before serving. You can also add a couple of ice cubes to keep your drink chilled in warmer weather!
